Rascal! I still have that too, Kevin.

So many - my favorites are probably a Hans Christian Andersen collection illustrated by Arthur Rackham, no cover left at all, sewn spine stiches still holding,a Poe collection also Rackham illustrated (with dog-chewed cover), and an early dictionary with a leather cover and rosewood inset, also dog-chewed.

You can see why these were not library books.

I still have a copy of Rascal by Sterling North (a local author where I grew up). And I purchased on eBay a copy of Paddle-to-the-Sea that I remember a teacher reading to the class in grade school.

I love it! Hmmm. I don't think I have any books from when I was a preteen, just my own stories. I loved history books, horse books, and Grimm's fairy tales. I still have Grimm's fairy tales, but it's a "newer" version
